Checklist
- Locate the old decision letter and quote the denial reasons and evidence list.
- List deployment locations, bases, ships, and approximate dates of toxic exposure.
- List current diagnoses that may relate to burn pits, herbicides, radiation, or other recognized exposures.
- Compare your conditions against current VA.gov PACT Act / presumptive guidance (do not invent list items).
- Gather new medical evidence created after the denial (imaging, specialists, private care).
- Note whether an Intent to File could protect an effective date while you organize.
- Prepare questions for a free accredited VSO or representative before choosing a filing lane.
- Export a reviewable prep packet: denial quotes, exposure timeline, diagnosis list, open evidence gaps.
